A client of mine found a perfect house she would love to have her family make a home. She is a godly woman. She doesn’t believe in crossing fingers like her mortgage broker suggested rather she believes in speaking to her Father concerning every area of her life-I am on board with that. Believers believes.
No wavering, no doubts, no double-mindedness. We pray, make petition with thanksgiving and we believe we receive. God called us to believe.
O how I wish this was a reality to each believer in every circumstance. We are redeemed people, living in a fallen body among fallen people in the fallen world. Sometimes we forget to do that which we were called to do.
Often times it is easier say than done. When we are not in a situation that needs us to practice what we know, we think it is easy. We advise others to believe. We open our mouth when we see others weak in their believing. When it become our turn (and there are many opportunities), we blow it. Again and again. “Should I fast about this?” asking ourselves, “What should I do?”
God is calling His children to believe all the time. And if He is calling you to believe, and He does, but you are contemplating a fast when should you be doing the believing, where’s your faith?
Well, that is the question I asked myself last night. “Why my transactions are facing the same fate as any heathen’s transaction?” I have written countless deals that have had received a no for an answer. It is frustrating. How much money have I lost already? What If I made all that money and used it to fund the end-time harvest for the kingdom of God? That would have been a great loss for the devil and great victory for the kingdom of God. But there I was asking God questions, “Lord, what is the difference between me and any other pagan out there in my industry?” I said to Him, something is not adding up.
I cannot be facing the same disappointments, the same cries, the same headaches, the same rejections, the same no, as a person who walks in darkness. “You have to tell me where I am off Lord and by Your grace and strength, I will correct it.”
I fell asleep contemplating on that. But before I slept, this is what I remember hearing in my spirit, “there is a time to fast and a time to believe. Your problem is unbelief!” Huh!, I felt like that boy’s father who cried out to Jesus, “I do believe; help my unbelief!”
Unbelief is simply a lack of faith. And the lack of faith is a sin according to Romans 14:23. Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “…..all things are possible with him who believes.”
All means all. He did not say except this or that. Jesus said all things are possible but you gotta believe first.
In John 11:40 He said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” So God’s glory manifests when we believe. Romans 1:17 confirms it by telling us that, God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith meaning from one faith to another faith. In other words, His glory, His righteousness manifests concerning to only what we believe Him for. There will be many situations and opportunities to believe in the course of our lives but many people will not see the glory of God or His righteousness because of unbelief.
You may find some believers strong in faith in some areas of their lives but weak in other areas. They may be strong about finances but when it comes to physical health they cave. There their lives are threatened. As the pressure mounts their faith weakens. But a believer is not to believe in a certain area and be weak in or lack faith in other areas. No, a believer believes-period.
We believe in the morning, and we believe in the evening. We believe in sickness and we believe in health. We believe in the city and we believe in the country. We believe in plenty and we believe in little. We just believe in everything and anything. It is part of our DNA. It is who we are. That’s what marks the difference between us vs the children of this world. Our Father is full of faith. He has given us His very faith to live by. “……..The life I now live I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me” Galatians 2:20 KJV.
Since we do not lack anything ever since Jesus became our Shepherd then why we are having difficulties in believing certain things? Why I have unbelief in deals I write or unbelief in getting a home to each and every client who come my way?
See, it is normal for a heathen to lament, “too many buyers too little houses.” That’s right, they neither have God nor hope in this world. But I am not a heathen anymore even though I’ve spoken unbelief knowing the fruits thereof. Believers do things out of ignorance but I received a revelation last night.
I realized I don’t live by the Wall street’s dictates. I am from a different kingdom. The kingdom which is far superior. The kingdom that will never end. I don’t care if the house is for sale or not. It doesn’t matter if I have ten people overbid my clients. I get the sale.
I believe every person who is placed under my care–rich or poor, female or male, single or married, whatever, I see that person as:
a) A gift from God
b) A divine encounter
c) I and I alone can point them to what they really want.
d) They are blessed to have me and I am blessed to have them
Therefore, It doesn’t matter who the seller is, the listing agent is, their mortgage broker is, their background is, what’s matter is they met me and I met them.
I should close every client if they are willing, ready, able. That’s all I need from them. The Lord and I will do the rest. I should be a person where the heathens will know I don’t do business ordinarily. I do a supernatural business. My Father’s business.
By the way, how easy will it be to win souls for Jesus in market places? How easier will be to minister where your average pastor or evangelist cannot be found? This is how God intended for each and every one of us to operate. For “you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9.
I received that revelation last night. I wish it came early. It probably did I just didn’t hear it. We have to come to the end of ourselves to hear this. We have to be so burned out to the point we say, God, it gotta be a better way. It gotta be an easier way because this is not working.
And He will say to you, “of course there are easy ways. But you are a stiff neck. What’s easier: to build a bridge or parting a large body of water with a stick?”We fast when our heart is puffed up. Click To Tweet
When do you fast?
We fast when our heart is puffed up. We fast when high things in our lives exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. We fast when we want to keep our thoughts captive. We fast when the flesh is rebellious.
We don’t fast to obtain favors from God. That’s unbelief. We don’t fast to get what our flesh desires. We fast to bring the flesh into subjection. We don’t fast to get into debts, we fast to humble ourselves before the Lord so that He might exalt us in due time.
When you are believing for that car or that dream house, or that well-needed vacation–rejoice in the Lord. Believe you receive. It is God’s gift for you. He has placed that desire in your heart so that you call those things that aren’t as if they were. Speak His word. When the heathens are crossing fingers, you enter His gate with thanksgiving and His court with praises. If you have no joy, peace, no fruits of your lips, most likely it was a desire from a different kingdom.
When the time to fast comes, I will know it. I will fast. This is not the time. We don’t fast to bribe God. We do not fast to be favored, we are already the highly favored of the Lord. Do you believe it?
This is not a time to fast. It is time to speak the Word of God. Time to proclaim the good news to my deals. Time to offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and then watch.
When to fast? not while the bridegroom is here. Let me behold His beauty. When He is lifted up, I will definitely fast.
