The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9
The Lord gave me a book almost two decades ago but He didn’t tell me anything else about it. Since then I have been scrambling ideas to no avail. When I took the matter in my hands without His counsel things didn’t go well-at-all!
I was left frustrated. I quit several times. I doubted if the desire came from God to-begin-with. Just when I was about to give up, He showed up. I am talking two days ago. And everything I struggled with all these years was sorted within hours.
When God put desires in our hearts, He expects us to seek Him. His desire is for us to seek His guidance and to fully depend on Him. Total surrender pleases God. After all, you were bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:20). But most of the time we think it is up to us to act when it is just the opposite. Can we learn something from Abraham’s example?

God promised Abraham a son when he was 75 years old. His wife’s womb was as good as dead. So Sarah came up with a great idea, “we can get this promised son from Hagar.” Abraham thought that’s exactly what God meant knowing their clock ticked. The Bible tells us, “And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived ” Genesis 16:4.
Hagar gave birth to Ishmael. That honest mistake is grungy we are still paying today. One cheap mistake can carry a lifetime debt.
Cease striving and know that He is God………. (Psalm 46:10 NASB).
When God promised you something or dropped a desire in your heart let Him guide you from A to Z. When He gives you a task, EXPECT Him to prepare the path for you to walk in it. Proverbs 16:9 tell us just that, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”
Therefore, no matter how long it takes, in my case almost two decades–be patient. Patience is a virtue. God is patient with us. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some understand slowness, but is patient toward you….” Patience pays. Be like your Father.
Father, In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I pray that You give us the power to accomplish all the good things our faith prompts us to do. I ask this so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in us and us in Him, according to the grace given us. Amen!!
Stay tuned for my first baby aka the BOOK. I promise you’ll be blessed reading as I am blessed writing it.
Until then, Be FREE–in Jesus Name.
