They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them. Psalm 135:16-18
In the time when the Psalms were written, people trusted in metal idols. Even today, people trust in metal idols plus other forms like self, celebrities, fame, work, money, children etc the point is when we trust in idols, we reject the One who created us, and like the idols that we trust in, we too become worthless as image-bearers of God.
