I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
I no longer live…..Christ lives in me
The life I now live in the body…..I live by faith
In the son of God…..Who loved me and gave himself for me.
The other day I spent all day at home. I didn’t even brush my teeth. That evening, I found myself contemplating on Galatians 2:20.
If Jesus lives in me, and not I–What have I done all day long? I asked myself.
Do you want to know what I did?
I ate all day. My stomach was full leaving no room for more.
So when I read Galatians 2:20, I thought no way Jesus would’ve stuffed himself like this. Jesus wouldn’t even be in the house all day. The son of man would be out and about in synagogues, healing people, raising the dead and opening blind eyes. Entertaining the flesh would be the last thing on his mind. His number one priority (his food) was to do the will of the one who sent Him.
I realized Jesus in me (on that day) was not magnified the way He should. I realized I was living (at that moment) in flesh gratifying the desires of the flesh. I realized that was not the best way to come to a complete knowledge of Christ. I was not acting like a person sited with Christ far above.
If Christ lives in you, do things Jesus would do. He certainly wouldn’t stay home eating all day long.
