The subject line has little or more to do with the rest of the text. However, I trust you’ll have faith to read the whole article. Let’s go.
What is Faith?
The scriptures tell us “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) It is to believe in things even though you haven’t seen them. It is to trust and to have confidence in the power of God.
If you don’t have faith in God the bible says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for He that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) “Impossible” is the key word.
Here is a good part; you don’t need a lot of faith or enough faith to have faith. Jesus said, “…… if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20). See, anything you think is “impossible” in your life will be possible when you have faith.
A mustard seed is probably the smallest seed you can find at your local supermarket and what He is telling us here is what counts is faith. There is no size to it. Even a tiny faith will please God.
God’s word is clear from the beginning that the purpose of our existence is to live in total and complete reliance on Him. We do that by faith because that’s how His righteousness is revealed to us. Romans 1:17 states “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
In other words, the righteous man trusts, not in himself, but in God. His faith is directed upward, not inward! Herein is faith — the ability to accept as reality what one cannot fully understand. The one who trusts in God is not troubled by the enigmas of life.
Now, How to start Using Faith?
First, Have faith in God. Believe He exists. Invite Him into your life because He longs to have a personal relationship with you.
Where do we get faith? Romans 10:17 has the answer “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” So, dig into His word. Dwell on it. Make it your shelter and ask the author Himself to teach you what He has written.
Put your Faith to work
With a little faith from you—even with just a little bit—God can do great things through you.
Sure you’re young, but because of your faith, God can do a lot. By faith, maybe you can stand up for those who are getting picked on. Maybe by your faith, your friends will come to know God. Because of your faith, you can help out a cause. Because of your faith, you can lead a movement in your community. By your faith, you can remain peaceful even in those hard situations at home and bring your family closer together. By your faith, you could change a friend’s life forever. It’s endless, and it’s all because of your faith and by your faith that God can and will use you for great things.
Here’s the thing about faith: faith gives control over to God so that we don’t do things by our own strength, but that He does things through us.
So the question is, through faith, are you going to let God do great things through you? Because it’s by your faith that things will happen!
If you are having difficulties to have faith, pray this prayer found in Mark 9:24 “Lord I believe, help me overcome my unbelief.“
